Band 1 Course of Treatment

This covers an examination, diagnosis (eg. X-rays), advice on how to prevent future problems, a scale and polish if needed and application of fluoride varnish or fissure sealants. If you require urgent care, even if your urgent treatment needs more than the one appointment to complete, you will only need to pay the one band 1 charge.

Band 2 Course of Treatment

This covers everything listed in Band 1 above plus any further treatments such as fillings, root canal work or your dentist needs to take out one or more of your teeth.

Band 3 Course of Treatment

This covers everything listed in Bands 1 and 2, plus crowns, dentures and bridges.

Band 4: (£26.80) Urgent/ Assess and Advice

This provides patients with urgent/ emergency care. Under this band you will receive diagnosis if possible on the appointment, Temporary dressings if

deemed appropriate, and antibiotic cover should you need this. To see a full list of emergency services under Band 4 NHS charge, please visit NHS choices website.

Band 4 is not a continuation of treatment, it is a ONE OFF/ ON THE DAY Urgent charge on the NHS. Sometimes we can add a course of treatment to a Band 4 claim but only certain treatment qualifies.

The charge for a Band 4 is always the same as a Band 1.

The NHS Banding Fee's are updated on the 1st April of every year. We always aim to provide up-to-date NHS fee's but if you have any queries regarding new NHS fee's, please contact our  friendly reception team on 01384 372525.
